Child welfare 🧒🏽

As parents, we all want our children to be well, to thrive.

From a very young age, a child can have wellness and mental health problems.

That's why we need to protect our little ones! ☁️

Children's psychological wellness includes their mental and also emotional health: satisfactory psychological wellness gives children every chance to grow into balanced, healthy adults. 🌿

What can affect my child's well-being?

A child's well-being can be influenced by a number of factors, such as family and school life. In addition, there is a link between physical and mental health: to be healthy, a child needs to participate in sports regularly. ⛹🏽♀️

How do I know if my child has disrupted well-being?

Mental wellness can be disrupted and this can be reflected in a bad mood, difficulty concentrating, irritability, relationship difficulties with friends and family, signs of stress...

These signs of poor mental health can affect the child's ability to perform well in school, social integration and can impact their overall mood and enjoyment of life. 😞

How can I support my child's well-being?

Individuals surrounding the child should be alert to any warning signs and should support the child's mental and emotional well-being.

Ways to support the child are:

- 👂🏽Listen: ask the child how he or she is doing, what is bothering them. Making conversations about their feelings normal and routine to build confidence with their emotions.

- 🍾 Support: if you see signs of difficulty, try to help him/her cope by showing support and reaching out to others including his/her teachers.

- 👏🏽 Encourage: take an interest in what the child likes, sports, hobbies etc. Talk to them about what is important to them and show them your support. It is important to show the child that you care and that they are important.

In addition to all this advice, it is important to live a healthy life: a balanced diet and regular physical activity.
